DeLisa Barnes

I am a mother, educator, entrepreneur, and Author. I have worked in the education field for over 13 years. My educational background includes Teaching, Administration, SPED, and ABA therapy.
“My Why?” I usually tell people that my children are my why. Everything I do is because I have them and their futures in mind. This is true, but just this year I began to realize that nothing I was doing was for myself and that I needed to be THE answer to THE question. Yes, my children are a WHY, but I realized, I needed to start living and having my needs and desires in mind intentionally. I had to realize I am more than just a mom. Sometimes I forget and it is often hard to add myself to the equation, but God did not make me just to be someone's Mom. Yes, Mom is one of the most important hats I wear, but I was created to be and do so much more. I was not created as a mom I became a mom, and that is the difference.
I was called for a specific time, to do a specific work, to touch people that may not be touched at all if not by me. I had to remember that. There are people with my name on them, they need me, and God ordained me to be the one to touch their life. This is what awakened me to take the call on my life seriously. I want to be in God's perfect will, and that is where there is fullness of joy. I'm ready for my joy. When you are in the right place, at the right time, no matter what is going on around you there is peace in just knowing that this is where I am supposed to be. I want to return multiplied talents to the Lord, not just what he gave me. It is my job to cultivate what he gives me and return it with souls attached. (Matthew 25:14-30) This is who I am along with being a mother, educator, author, and entrepreneur. I am a Woman, who is intentional about being resilient, confident, honest, and able to pour into the lives of those around me. I want to be who God made me to be. Every day, I am working hard to heal, accept my worth, walk in my calling, and become what God wants me to be, as well as accept all that he has provided for me, free of cost.
